Red Velvet cake gained popularity when the secret recipe from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, where it was the signature dessert since the 1920s, leaked to the Washington Post and was published. Use StackCooker for our version of this dessert
Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. red food coloring
  • 1 tsp. white distilled vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. In a 8 3/4-cup/2.1 L Wonderlier Bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder.
  2. In a 12-cup/2.8 L Wonderlier Bowl, beat together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vinegar and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix until smooth and combined.
  4. Pour batter into a TupperWave Stack Cooker 3-Qt./ 3.0 L Casserole with Cone that has been sprayed or creased with cooking oil.
  5. Microwave on high power for 10-11 minutes until no center and tests clean with a tooth pick.
